DESCRIPTION

Anafranil is a medication mainly used to treat obsessive-compulsive disorder. This medication is also useful in treating other mental disorders such as depression.

Anafranil belongs to a group of medications known as tricyclic antidepressants. These drugs work by restoring the balance between various chemicals in the brain.

Uses

Anafranil is primarily useful in treating obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD). This medication helps to decreases the obsessive thoughts and helps to reduce the compulsion to perform certain tasks. The drug is also useful in treating depression, panic attacks and ongoing pain.

Dosage

This medication is generally taken by mouth, with or without food. Your dosage can differ according to your medical condition and the way you respond to the treatment.
