DESCRIPTION

Actos is an anti-diabetic drug that is used to control high blood sugar among individuals with type 2 diabetes. This medication is also referred to as Pioglitazone.

The drug works by restoring your body’s natural response to insulin. This in turn, reduces your blood sugar to a significant extent. This medication works best when it is combined with a proper diet plan and exercise program. This drug can be consumed along or alongside other anti-diabetic drugs.

Actos is mainly taken to reduce high blood sugar levels among those with type 2 diabetes. By controlling the blood sugar level, this medication reduces the risk of blindness, nerve problems, loss of limbs and sexual function problems. By properly controlling diabetes, Actos can also decrease the risk of heart problems.

Dosage

Actos is taken with or without food, by mouth. The dosage will be determined by your doctor according to other anti-diabetic medications that you are taking. The physician will also consider your condition and response to the treatment. The dosage will be adjusted according to your blood sugar levels.

If you wish to experience the full benefits of this medication, you need to take it regularly as possible. If you accidently miss your dose, take it as soon as you remember.
