How It Works

Hypoxanthine and xanthine are purines that are formed naturally in the body. Xanthine oxidase is accountable for oxidation of these purines that results in the production of uric acid. In other words, Uric acid is a substance formed when purines are metabolized and broken down in your body.

Zyloprim works by blocking the production of uric acid and the synthesis of purines. By doing so, this drug is able to prevent the formation kidney stones, gout and some other diseases.
