Serophene
DESCRIPTION

Serophene is a non-steroidal ovulation stimulator that treats infertility in women. It is the brand name of the generic drug clomiphene. Serophene is available for oral administration.

How it works

The active ingredient clomiphene citrate in Serophene interacts with tissues such as the hypothalamus, pituitary, endometrium and cervix that contain estrogen receptors. It works by resisting estrogen receptors that bind to these tissues and interrupts the renewal of intracellular estrogen receptors. When Serophene interferes with estrogen receptors in the hypothalamus which is responsible for controlling hormones in your body, the follicle stimulating hormone and luteinizing hormone are released from the hypothalamus. These hormones stimulate ovulation and therefore, restores normal menstruation.
